La convention prosegue anche oggi con lo stage di breakdance. Next One (Torino) che tiene la lezione e' Zulu King membro della Universal Zulu Nation in Italia, acclamato campione di breakdance (ache negli USA, dove ha ballato con Rock Steady Crew), nonche' dj e produttore di talento. La gara, meritatamente vinta dai Good Fellas di Firenze, a cui ho assistito ieri e' stata molto interessante a mio parere. Next ha elargito molti utili consigli ai b-boys che partecipavano alla gara ed e' stato molto cordiale con tutti. Ieri notte presso l' Area Gens a Gello, nei dintorni di Pontedera, Next One ha suonato un infuocato dj set funk circondato da centinaia di B-boys (ma anche molti "non addetti ai lavori"). Sono rimasto fino all' alba ad ascoltare lui e Tommy Toome della sua crew (anche lui da Torino) suonare i grandi classici del funk (Give it up or turnit a loose e Sex machine di James Brown, Rockit di Herbie Hancock, God make me funky di Headhunters, e molti altri brani leggendari mixati magistralmente in un vortice di breakbeats) fino a che, al termine della notte, sono comparsi alcuni rompicoglioni (i briai che ti scozzano contro in discoteca ci sono sempre!), rovinando l' atmosfera molto bella che si era creata con la musica e i balli. Un ringraziamento e un saluto a Swavez per avermi informato in tempo della convenction, che non so come contattare causa smarrimento telefonino: fatte senti'!

Sabato 26 e domenica 27 maggio, a Pontedera (PISA) si terrà la 4^ edizione della Spray Art Convention.
L'evento è dedicato alla cultura hip-hop, in particolare al breaking e al writing. Quest'anno vedrà la partecipazione del ballerino di fama internazionale NEXT ONE (Maurizio Cannavò). Sabato: contest 2vs2
Domenica: stage di Next One

LUOGO: Piazza Garibaldi, Pontedera (PISA)
DATA: Maggio 2007 - sabato 26 (contest) - domenica 27 (stage Next One)

Premi:

1°) Viaggio per due persone in una località europea a scelta, della durata di due giorni, offerto da ModernViaggi. Il premio include: viaggio andata e ritorno; pernottamento; prima colazione.
2°) Abbigliamento. Valore 200 euro.
3°) Abbigliamento. Valore 100 euro.

Regolamento

- Il contest di breakdance della Spray Art Convention è una competizione a coppie ad eliminazione diretta;
- Le iscrizioni verranno raccolte unicamente via e-mail breakdance@sprayartconvention.it oppure www.................
Nell’oggetto specificare “iscrizione contest”. L’e-mail dovrà contenere inoltre i seguenti dati:

a) nome dei partecipanti;
b) località di provenienza;
c) eventuale crew di appartenenza.

- La conferma dell’iscrizione avverrà sul posto lo stesso giorno dell’evento, prima dell’inizio della gara, con il versamento di 10 euro per coppia.
- Sono ammesse un massimo di 32 coppie. Coppie iscrittesi dopo il raggiungimento di tale numero verranno utilizzate come riserva.

- Giudice: MAURIZIO CANNAVÒ aka NEXT ONE.

- Dj: TOMMY T.LOVE TOOME (Next Level / Lovemaniacs)

Stasera 19 maggio 2007 avra' luogo al csa Next Emerson in via di Bellagio zona stazione di Castello a Firenze una festa danzante drum'n'bass con vari dj set. Nel sito del csa nextemerson non c'e' scritto niente a proposito di questa festa ma se ascoltate Controradio (93.6 mhz fm o http://www.controradio.it/) con attenzione durane i break pubblicitari sarete informati piu' dettagliatamente. La serata si apre con il concerto della Congiura Dei Pazzi (drum'n'bass freestyle da Firenze). CDP si sono esibiti all' ultima serata fuckthelocalini  dopo il concerto di Colle Der Fomento, qualche settimana fa.

Le foto qui sopra de La Congiura Dei Pazzi e DJ Craim sono state scattate all' emerson al loro ultimo concerto.

Un saluto a Fausto, Polpetta, Ilenia, Giada e a gli altri di cui non ricordo i nomi della crew di fuckthelocalini.

Page 1 of 2 Hip Hop Appreciation Week begins on May 14th 2007 and concludes on May 21st 2007. Hip Hop Appreciation Week began in 1998 as a time set aside every third week in May to acknowledge and appreciate the existence of Hip Hop itself. During this time (May 14th-21st 2007) the Hip Hop community refocuses itself through a collective reviewand update of its own history and core principles and elements. Principles- peace,love, unity and having fun. Elements- Breakin, Emceein, Graffiti Art, Deejayin, Beat Boxin, Street Fashion, Street Language, Street Knowledge and Street Entrepreneurialism. The idea is to celebrate Hip Hop itself.   During Hip Hop Appreciation Week artists can be asked to give sound advice on what they’ve learned about life and living Hip Hop this year. Schools of all sorts are encouraged to discuss Hip Hop academically and critically amongst its students and teachers. Radio DJs can upgrade their play of “conscious” Rap music over the airwaves and parents can discuss the true meaning and history of Hip Hop with their children. During Hip Hop Appreciation Week the Hip Hop community is encouraged to:   Give the next person the right of way. Allow people to pass you. Do not block a person’s forward movement.   Donate your skill or profession to someone who cannot afford it.   At the supermarket give your change to the person behind you in line.   Be quick to compliment and slow to criticize. Be ready to forgive and move on.   Tithe 10% of your salary this week to your child’s teacher.   Ease a neighbor’s pressure by donating your time toward the assistance of some duty they must undertake. Give of yourself this week.   Let us show our respect for Hip Hop with a sincere respect for one another. Men—support the women in your life. Women, comfort the men in your life. And let us all remain committed to the well-being of our children; they are the reason we do what we do. Love your children. Reserve a special love for them. Give them your time and your attention. Be patient with them. Touch them, hug them, play with them and be sure to teach them, advise them, protect them, discipline them, and most of all LISTEN to them. One of the best ways to teach our children that they are valuable is to value them. Often we must compliment them, point out their special qualities to them, fulfill their prayers, support their legitimate dreams and aspirations and let them know that we are interested in them. They are the future of Hip Hop! The preservation of our children IS the preservation of Hip Hop. HAPPY HIP HOP APPRECIATION WEEK!
