DARCO – GOR
Oggi continua a lavorare in modo meticoloso, coerente e fedele all’essenza del Graffiti-Writing.

NEON

THE DULK

Ice-T – 409 – from the Rhyme Pays album (1987)
lyrics:
It’s time to start the party if ya’ll don’t mind
Me and “E” clean our Adidas with 409
He rocks the highs, I dog the bass
Ya wanna hear us rock?
Here’s a taste!!!
Every day I make a sandwich with ham and cheese
Use miracle whip, I don’t like mayonnaise
I eat a can of beans, good for my heart
About 1 pm, I always…
Far from me to bite anothers rhyme
They’re just too easy to write
I do’em two at a time
Like doggin’ the wax and ya don’t quit
And if you didn’t like that then suck my…

Just maxin’ with two freaks upon my lap
Chillin’ on the phone, bookin’ more def shows

Jam rockin’s how I got my fame, Ice capital T
Evil E’s his name
If you can’t see who’s rockin’ you must be blind
You better clean your gazelles with some 409!!!
Go Ice get busy (x2)
Go Evil Get busy (X2)
Turn up your stereo, equalize treble
Bass be kickin’ stupid hard as metal
On the mic tonight that’s right your rhyme opponent
MC Ice T just microphonin’
33 and 1/3 revolutions per minute
This record is def because my heart is in it
Vocals laid by the Ice, tempos tight and precise
Special effects will be created by an editor’s splice
The funk is in it, ya dig it so stop that frontin’
Bust a move to my groove work your body do somethin’
No way in the world that you can deny my method
As my record rotates, my words get more impressive
I’m an MC, Evil’s my Dj on Sire Records not MCA
CBS, Capitol, cause they move too slow
Now Sire/Warner Bros clocks all the dough
As the record revolves money’s gettin’ made
ASCAP pays me every time it’s played
I chill in def leathers pure silks and suede
And the gold around my neck will never fade
Down with my Syndicate organized rhyme
Kickin’ def tempos that I design
And if you can’t hear’em thats such a crime
You better wash your dirty ears with some 409
I always rhyme elite, stay on beat
Travel in a posse when I walk the street
Loved to say my rhymes when I used to max
Now I don’t speak much, I save my words for wax
I just wanna make a little point in this song
With a little nonsense we can all get along and on and on
Till the break’a break of dawn
This jam will never play out because the grooves too strong
Guys grab a girl, girls grab a guy
If a guy wants a guy, please take it outside
I wanna make ya enjoy yourself
On the mic tonight Ice T!! Who else?
Evil’s on the cuts, Henry Gee’s shot gun
Islam’s my producer, Bambaataa’s son
Bronx Style Bob’s cold watchin’ my back
Melle Mel’s just layin’ for some punks to act wack
Grandmaster Caz and Donald D, Scott La Rock
Red Alert, Chuck Chill Out
If you’re down with my crew you will be fine
But if you ill we’ll get dirty bring your 409!!

Doom – My Favorite Ladies
from the Live From Planet X album (2005)
lyrics:
Mary, you make me wanna eat you
Everytime I see you, it’s like the first time I meet you
Frangrance like a flower, subtle and sweet too
Seductive and whatever, it might as well be see through
Like my genie in a bottle
Miss could get me rich like a magaziney model
Before you know it, he have her on a stroll
Fresh and ripe, perplexin like Acapulco Gold
If I had to guess, just right, not a day old
Like a cradle robber, copped her off, shop a trailer-load
Know the right number, you can get her
And hit while you would’ve sold to the highest bidder like
Fruits and berries, bring daddy loot in a hurry
Just be cute and don’t worry
Type to make a nigga hallucinate and admit it
Then she started losing weight, lettin everybody hit it
I like Ally, sometimes she gets bitter
Always kept me happy, never had a problem with her
She used to let me use her, back when I was looser
Respect her to this day, and never did abuse her
I told her I’ll be faithful, but she don’t believe me
I probably coulda been, if I never meet Eevee
She make me feel all fuzzy inside, it’s loco
You won’t get nowheres near her if you’re broke though
Kept a shorty, can’t find ’em much thinnner
If caught I get mad time just for touchin her
Knock wood, so much for hymens
So fly, she should be in the sky with diamonds
Little young thing, she likes to do the tounge thing
At times, she would play hard to get, grunting
Or something, she made me feel like the number one king
Run into her now, and we still catch a fun fling
Met her at Central Park this one time
Had the God mentally sparked, reflectin sunshine
She said, you need to stop messin wit that white girl
She fuckin wit ya head and got ya heart in tight curl
We messed around once or twice, but she don’t know me
She helped me get money at the dutch price OT
Plus she from Columbia, so she really Spanish
Cookie known to make a cat bank account vanish
And Miss Hazy, all the women mature black
Everytime she sees me, I end up gettin pulled back
All she want me to do is blaze it crazy
The only one complaint is, she make me too lazy
Sugar-mommy laced me with the butter navy Avi
Just her way to makeup for the headaches that she gave me
It’s all gravy, when I’m done getting my mack on
Ally is always there to help me get back on
a poplockin’ classic:
Ronnie Hudson & The Street People – Westcoast Poplock
lyrics:
Now wait a minute
California knows how to party (x2)
In the city, of L.A.
In the city, of good old Watts.
In the city, city of Compton (???)
There Poplock (???)
WOOOO
Poplocking in Rolls-Royces, Cadillac, Lincoln and Mercedes Bens
Poplocking in Howard Johnson, Sheraton (???)
Poplocking at the Holiday Inn
Poplocking in Hollywood, it’s understood
While listening to the Mac
Poplocking at Broadway, everyday
To the Preachers
So rough, so tough, out here baby
So rough, so tough, out here
California knows how to party (x2)
In the city, of L.A.
In the city, a girl wants! (???)
In the city, of good old Watts.
There Poplock
Dance, dance disco style
It’s all on the West Coast
Living good and playing hard
Cruising the Boulevard
Leaning and feeling (???)
And you won’t be dreaming
That’s what it’s all about
So rough, so tough, out here baby (x4)
WOOOO
Lock it up baby
WOOOO, YA
Lock them shoulders
Lock them arms
Now lock that neck
Just raise those fingers in the air
I swear it’s getting mighty funky out there
There’s a party over here
There’s a party over there
Can’t get it right on cuz
Playboys
That’s cool, clean and man
Can’t get it right on cuz
Right on
So rough, so tough, out here baby
So rough, so tough, out here
California knows how to party (x2)
In the city, of L.A.

Kill at Will is a seven track EP, released by Ice Cube in 1990. It was released soon after AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted, and capitalized off Cube’s newfound solo success. The EP quickly shipped Gold in sales, a first for a hip hop EP, and a year later, had sold over a million copies. It featured a remix of “Endangered Species”, featuring a brand new verse from Public Enemy’s Chuck D. Kill at Will is considered by Ice Cube fans to be among his best works, and original vinyl pressings are still highly sought after.
Kill at Will contains two of Ice Cube’s most famous tracks, the rambunctious “Jackin’ for Beats”, and the soulful ode “Dead Homiez”. “Dead Homiez” was Cube’s second solo single/music video. The song deals with the violence, death, and social problems of the inner city ghettos and is essentially a dedication to all those killed through urban violence. The song was praised later on by countless rap artists and critics, and is one of the first hip hop songs to deal with the pain and loss suffered specifically by the families of black men lost to black on black violence.
“Jackin’ for Beats”, likewise, began the popular trend of an MC rapping over the various instrumentals of popular beats, which rotate during the course of one song. The song and its sentiment is an excellent example of plunderphonics.
The EP was remastered and added to the re-release of the AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted album in 2003.
Jackin’ For Beats – lyrics:
[Intro:]
Wait a minute, hold on, get your ass up
Whassup nigga?
Get over there… shit
Ya lil punk ass nigga
C’mere, c’mere, c’mere boy
God damnit you stop that shit now
Take him to jail and get him the hell from in front of this house
Now wait a minute, wait a minute, hey man
Whassup?
Wait a minute?
There are police, go![Verse One:]
Give me that beat fool, it’s a full time jack move
Chilly Chill, yo homie mack the track move
And I’ll jack any Tom, Dick and Hank
That’s the name of the SUCKERS I done ganked
I get away from a copper
Drop a dime, I’ll break you off somethin proper
With the L-E-N-C-H-M-O-B
T-Bone and that’s J.D.
And here’s how we’ll greet ya
Stop fool, come off that beat ya
feel dumb cause you’re caught in the dark
(ya lil nuttin ass mark)
Raise up, cause you cant’ have it back
You said – “I ain’t never got gaffled like that”
Off the end of the gat you choke
Short Dog’s in the house – “Whattup loc?”
Nuttin but a come up
Gimme that bass, and don’t try to run up
Cause you’ll get banked somethin sweet
Ice Cube and the Lench Mob, is jackin for beats[Verse Two:]
Huh, and even if you’re down with my crew
(Yo Chuck man, i dodn’t understand this man
You got to slow down)
I jack them too
And then we’ll freak it
Kick that bass, and look what we did
Fade the grade, played, and made a few mil
and I keep stealin
Ice Cube’ll make it funky
But right about now – *let’s get up in the hump*
But I don’t party and shake my butt
I leave that to the brothers with the funny haircurs
And it’ll drive you nuts
Steal your beat, and give it that gangsta touch
Like jackin at night
Say hi to the three fifty-seven I’m packin
And it sounds so sweet
Ice Cube and the Lench Mob, is jackin for beats[Verse Three:]
Ice Cube, will take a funky beat and reshape it
Locate a dope break, and then I break it
And give it that gangsta lean
Dead in your face as I turn up the bass
I make punk suckers run and duck because
I don’t try to hide cause you know that I love to
jack a fool for his beat and then I’m Audi
So when I come to your town don’t crowd me
Cause I know, you’re gonna wanna kick it with me
But I know, none of y’all can get with me
So you think you’re protected
Well you are til you put a funky beat on a record
Then I have to show and prove and use your groove
Cause suckers can’t fade the Cube
And if I jack you and you keep comin
I’ll have you marks a 100 Miles and Running!(stop stop stop stop stop!
sa-prize, niggaz)
A Dutch TvProgram Loladamusica did an interview with Laswell. Other musicians talking about Laswell: Liu Sola, DXT, Nicky Skopelitis.
Talking about:
Rockit – Hancock, Bootsy, Pharaoh Sanders and mainstream music.
Showing around Las’s studio by DXT and Laswell’s Bass collection.
Some shots of Praxis, with Buckethead, Brain, DXT.
Axiom
I think around 1995-1996, because DXT is talking about a new project Altered Beats.
