Who’s The Mack

June 12th, 2011 Comments off

Who’s The Mack by Ice Cube – original video
taken from the Amerikkka’s Most Wanted LP, produced by The Bomb Squad

The mack is DJ Pooh

lyrics:

Straight gangsta mack
Straight gangsta mack
Straight gangsta mack
Straight gangsta mack
Who’s the mack? is it some brother in a big hat
Thinking he can get any bitch with a good rap?
Rolling in a fucked-up Lincoln
Leaning to the side So it looks like he’s sinking
Into that leopard interior
This nigga thinks every girl’s inferior
To his tongue, get a dumb bitch sprung
As she’s selling more butt
Don’t even get a cut of the money
His name is Sonny
And he know the play
And hope to od that he don’t find a runaway
That’s looking to become a star
He’ll have your ass in and out of every car
With every on and Rick, sucking every john’s dick
Come short of the money, get your ass kicked
You don’t like it but you still call him hunk
Last night the nigga put yo’ ass in the trunk
You wanna leave but Sonny started talking fast
And it make you wanna go and sell more ass
He’s getting rich, you his bitch and it’s like that
Now ask yourself
Who’s the mack?
Who’s the mack?

It is that fool that wanna pump the gas
Give you a sad story and you give him cash?
He starts macking and macking and you sucking
Quick to say I’m down on my luck
And you give a dollar or a quarter and he’s on his way
Then you see his sorry ass the next day
Are you the one getting played like a sucka?
Or do you say, “Get a job, motherfucker”?
Every day, the story gets better
He’s wearing dirty pants and a funky-assed sweater
He claims he wants to get something to eat
But every day you find yourself getting beat
He gets your money and you run across the street don’t look both ways
’cause he’s in a daze
And almost get his ass hit for the crack
Now ask yourself
Who’s the mack?
Who’s the Mack?

Is it that nigga in that club asking
Have you ever been in a hot tub?
I know the game so I watch it unfold
When i see the boy pinned to your earlobe
He’s talking shit and you crack a smile
When he tell you that he can go buck wild
For a girl like you and make it feel good
You know it’s drama but it sound real good
He started dragging and hopefully he can start tagging
The pussy so he can keep bragging
He say, “I’m ‘a leave baby, can you go with me?”
The pussy so he can keep bragging
You wanna do it but you feeling like a H-O-E
You grab his hand, you leave and it’s over
‘Cause the nigga ain’t nothing but a rover
Ya knew the game and you still ended up on your back
Now ask yourself
Who’s the Mack?
Macking is the game and everybody’s playing
And as long as you believe what they saying
Consider the a M.A.C.K. and with no delay
They are gonna get all the play
But when it comes to me, save the drama for your momma
It’s Ice Cube and you know that I’m a
Mack in my own right
When it comes to rhyme and rap
’cause all i do is kick facts
Unlike Iceberg Slimm
And all of them be claimin’ be P.I.M.P.
No, I’m not going out that way
I’m just a straight up N I double G A
Next time U get over on a fool
And you did the shit like real smooth
Thank Ice Cube for giving up the facts
And ask yourself
Who’s the Mack?
Straight gangsta Mack
Straight gangsta Mack
Straight gangsta Mack
Straight gangsta Mack

E-mu Sp-1200. back from the lab

June 12th, 2011 Comments off

Yesterday i’ve received back via mail the SP-1200 from the lab in Loreto. The run/stop button was broken and it takes a while for the fixing of the part because the switch came from USA. So i’ve got to wait circa 4 months before the machine get repaired.

I’m loading samples from my floppy disks and the machine is running very well.

Days ago i discovered in the sp-1200 forums the existence of a floppy emulator that can read a CF card. The limitation of sample time and number of notes in one song/segment/pattern doesn’t change: only 10 seconds of sampling time divided in four memory chips (max 2,5 seconds per sample). But it can be useful because floppy disks are a bit hard to found in the stores today.

The sound is crazy, fat like hell. I was diggin’ for some glitch noises and founded one big drone (ground loop? i don’t know) in a sample. I added some vinyl samples and drums to make a beat…

Grap Luva (formerly of INI) stops by Damu The Fudgemunk’s studio to play some SP1200 Beats and talks about the making of Pete Rock’s “Half Man, Half Amazing.”

Da Arab Revolutionay Guys. DARGTeam (from Gaza) live 15.06.2011

DARGTeam (HipHop – Arabic Rap)

Mercoledi 15 Giugno 2011

CSA Next-Emerson – via di Bellagio 15, Firenze – zona Castello

Giardino interno – ingresso libero

Crew proveniente dalla striscia di Gaza, nato dalla fusione di due
gruppi, Damcz e Rg Band. Darg è un acronimo che sta per Da Arab
Revolutionay Guys. Si tratta di un team allargato composto da Fadi
Srour (Da Manager), Sami Srour (Mc), Bassam El Masry (Mc), Mohammed
Antar Dargteam (Mc), Mady M Dargteam (Mc), Maroof Abu Abdo (Music
producer), Ahmed Badran (Arabian Beat), Adam Qudwa (Camera Man),
Slide Show.
album intitolato “Bel Ghorbah”.
Palestinese.

dedicated to all the rebels of the world

Professor Griff (born Richard Griffin) was the minister of information for Public Enemy until June of 1989. He gave a controversial interview to The Washington Post that included comments deemed anti-Semitic by many. In the ensuing furor, Chuck D eventually fired him from Public Enemy and even briefly disbanded the group, only to re-form them. Griff formed his own band, the Last Asiatic Disciples. The results were mixed, the slant predictably Islamic and Afrocentric on efforts like 1998’s Blood of the Profit.

King Of The Beats New York City – the full documentary film
click here to see the entire movie

source http://www.kingofthebeats.com/blog/?p=318

Filmed and Directed by Pritt Kalsi. Here is the full film KOTB NYC 2010 featuring Casanova Rud, Minnesota Money Boss, Psycho Les (the Beatnuts) and TR Love from the Ultramagnetic M.C’s.
This is a film about cultural preservation. Digging Culture, Vinyl culture, Hip Hop culture. In this film some of Hip Hop greatest producers take on the challenge of digging in the crates with a budget of only $40 to find drums and grooves to sample to produce a beat.

This film gives you an insight in to the minds of how a hip hop producer works. what sounds inspire them. Buying records is a habit this is their passion.

As a film maker Pritt makes no money from his films. He is unsponsored and unfunded. All he asks is that support his work by visiting the site and purchasing a record or t-shirt. this is so that Pritt can continue to make these films.

The first single from this film is by Beatnuts Producer Psycho Les, only 300 pressed. support good hip hop. support a culture and movement. thankyou and enjoy.
